for this last minute gift idea, we were inspired by our favorite seasonal beverage. hot cocoa! this so super simple recipe is not just for non-dairy enthusiasts. the chocolate lovers on your list will be smitten (and we bet they won’t even miss the milk!)
vegan hot cocoa mix
~1 cup powdered soy milk
~1/2 cup cocoa powder
~1 cup brown sugar
scoop about 3 tablespoons in to a cup of boiling water, top with (vegan) marshmallows, and enjoy!
fill a canning mason jar about half way with the cocoa mix. cut out a circular piece of wax or parchment paper (about the size of the lid of the jar) and lay that across the mix. then fill the jar the rest of the way with (vegan) marshmallows. top with some lace or festive fabric, screw on the lid, and you’ve got yourself one pretty darn cute (and tasty) stocking stuffer! include a bottle of creme de menthe, irish cream, or straight up whiskey to give your gift a more adult spin. yum!
