Lexi and i love coffee. and i mean love coffee! a friend date to the coffee shop is one of our fave outings, but what is a java loving girl to do in the winter when the trek to the cafe is sounding less like fun and more like frigid? homemade gingerbread spiced coffee to the rescue!

this simple recipe will spice up your morning cup and add a little holiday pep to your step.

for one pot of coffee (about 6 cups):

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 teaspoon ground ginger

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

in a small bowl mix the maple syrup, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon until well blended. cover and refrigerate until you are ready to use it.

fill your cup of coffee about halfway.  stir in one tablespoon of the gingerbread flavoring until it is completely dissolved.  then fill your cup the rest of the way. if you’re feeling especially fancy, top off your cup with a little whip cream and sprinkle with cinnamon!
